When I first received this radio, it seemed to work fine.The weekly tests and the weather alerts were detected.On the hegative side, when programming the radio, any wrong keypress set of the siren, not a simple beep to let you know you made a mistake, but the full blown alert siren. ARGGGHHHH.The manual was not in sync with the unit so many of the instructions were wrong.At least I (and everyone else in the house) got really familiar with the sound of the siren.This past winter, we had a few days of multiple alerts and warnings and not a peep out of the radio.The weekly tests also fail to happen.I suggest you avoid this unit at all costs.Call Noah's ark for your weather. it probably works better.Click Here to see more reviews about: Radio Shack SAME Weather Radio
