I've had this for about 3 months now. For the price this is good buy - I wanted something that didn't look like it was from 1980 and still had defeatable alarms. I've got that here, and I can disable everything, even tornado warnings if i wanted to. It's probably worth mentioning, because I haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere, that even if you disable all alarms, the NWS can still send a NWR Activation signal and set your alarm off... they don't do this very often, but can be confusing, especially when you've disabled everything!The build quality could be better. You have to be careful how you push the directional buttons or it might think you've pushed left or right when you were pushing up... you eventually get the hang of it, but it should be built better. It's a little goofy going into the menus to se the alarms, but they can be enabled or disabled with the side switch pretty easily -- it's not a deal breaker but kind of strange. I should also point out that the display is the reverse of what amazon shows in the photos. All in all, the unit works well, looks better than alternatives that cost more and has served us well for many sever storms, and only woken me up when it was important :)
FWIW, I've had no issues with reception at all.
