It plays the ipod, obvious. The sound is surprisingly clear. bass though is a little weak, but that's because there's no subwofer. if you have a 3g nano, it doesn't do tv out, but you can you the speakers on the clock to watch your videos ;) does its job as an alarm clock and charger
one problem though: the LCD is backlit entirely, so for those of you who need to sleep in the total dark, this clock is rather bright at night
