Honeywell TC681ELW Dual View Wireless Digital Weather Station with Analog Quartz Clock Review

I got this station not even a week ago and its the worst money that I probably spent. Granted it was only around $50 but trust me you will regret every penny. Its impossible to set the time on this thing since the button that you are supposed to hold onto it doesn't work 90% of the time. When you have it pressed it just literally doesn't move the clock hands and as you take the batteries out and reinsert them it magically starts moving again and when you push the clock set button again same thing happens and it doesn't DO ANYTHING! This is the worst thing Honeywell made...I would not recommend this thing even as a useless piece of firewood or anything you could potentially take out your aggression out on, otherwise you'd be wasting your money.

The Honeywell TC681ELW Dual View Wireless Digital Weather Station with Analog Quartz Clock combines a classic analog clock with a high-tech digital weather station that can monitor up to three remote locations/ With the main display unit measuring 8.1 x 4.55 x 1.49 inches (WxHxD), the TC681ELW has three-channel remote sensor capacity and comes with one TS33C wireless sensor with a transmission range of approximately 200 feet. The weather station can auto-scan all three remote channels. (Additional sensors are sold separately.)
The analog clock has hour, minute and second hands. The digital weather station information includes a forecasting icon, indoor and outdoor temperatures and humidity range with comfort level indicators. The quartz clock includes crescendo alarm with snooze function and a LED backlight for easy night viewing. The digital weather station has an enhanced blue backlight. Electric Alarm Clock with Selectable Display Color Review

This is a plug in clock with a battery backup (which is not entirely clear from the description). It is very small (definitely fits in the palm of your hand) but has a very clear LCD. I like that you can customize the color for the display but I found the basic blue shown in the picture works the best. It is perfect as a second clock for the other side of the bed--presuming there are two people.

RCA RC40 AM/FM Alarm Clock Radio with Large Green LED Display (Black) Review

I've only had this for a week, but I'm loving it.I bought it for the dual alarms.Super great!I don't have to keep re-setting my alarm!It also came pre-set for time.All I had to do was pick a time zone.Awesome.

Big numbers, with a dimmer feature.Somehow, as big as the numbers are, on the dim setting it's still dimmer than my old one, which was obnoxiously bright in my opinion, so I love that, too.Love that it shows the alarm time, (you press a button to see both and it's easy to find, even in the dark).I'm totally paranoid, so the fact that I can see at a glance that it's set for the correct time is great.Little icons show you if the alarm is activated, too, and whether it's for beeper or radio.The beeper ramps up in volume but I find it starts out loud.I prefer to awaken to radio, anyway.The alarm's not the most intuitive to set, but once you know how, it's easy.

The radio feature uses a dial which could get bumped, (if you're picking up a phone next to it, for example), though I've not had that problem, yet.Same thing for volume.Nice thing about the radio is the digital tuner and the manual says it has some feature to help it hold its setting.You can set it to automatically turn off, (up to 90 minutes).

LOVE THE SNOOZE BUTTON!!!It's right on top and you literally tap it.My old alarm clock had the worst snooze button in the world, (actually, it had the worst everything in the world.It was on of those Sharper Image daylight simulator clocks and it was a total dud).Love, love, love the snooze button.It's really easy to deactivate and reactivate for the next day, as well.Variable snooze increments, as well.

All of this is probably really similar to the features in the RC46, which is offered through Amazon Prime, but I found mine at Walmart for the same price so I picked it up there instead of waiting 2 days.

All in all a very nice product.

Sony ICF-C218 Automatic Time Set Clock Radio (White) Review

What I like about this alarm clock: doesn't take up much room on my nightstand, the time is preset at the factory so all I had to do was set my time zone, the alarm doesn't jolt you awake - it starts out slow and quieter gradually getting faster and louder, you can choose how long you want your snooze to be, and it is so easy to figure out - I first saw this item at Target and was able to figure it out right there while displayed, quite a few of the others baffled me.

RCA RC46 AM/FM Alarm Clock Radio with Large Blue LED Display (Black) Review

Trying to find a reliable, easy to use, inexpensive, alarm clock for the wife.She wanted one that sets itself and had a battery back-up. I wanted one that would wake her up.Found this one at K-mart and spent 30 mins playing with it over by the televisions (needed a power source). This radio alarm clock is perfect for what I need.This being my first review, I"ll just point out the things that made me buy it.
1. Nice soft blue color, 2 setting...low you can just make out and high is clearly visible
2. Battery back up (even came with batteries) easy to find AA"s
3. Plug in in and it sets itself (all you have to do is set the time zone) has a switch for Daylight Savings Time.
4. Dual alarm (his and her) or in this case days and midnights...set it and forget it. You don't have to rememberto set it everyday.
5. If the power goes out the alarm goes into kind of a sleep mode.It beeps to warn you of the power failure and according to the instructions, remembers the alarm settings and goes off without it being plugged in (not tested yet)
6. The alarm starts off kinda like any other alarm but then gets progressively louder (can't see anyone sleeping through this one)
7. Playing with the tuner, looks like one of those old fashion, spin the dial things, but it shows a digital read on the display (kinda cool but it's a cheap radio folks and sounds like one)
8. The snooze is adjustable from 1 to 30 mins.
9. Last but not least, the alarm set time is displayed on the lower right, so if your the nervous type, you can double check to make sure the alarm is where you want it to be.All for around 20 bucks...and that"s all I have to say about that.....

Sony ICF-C218 Automatic Time Set Clock Radio (Black) Review

Not the niftiest, nor the most elegant clock radio available but the price and features make it about as good a buy as you'll find.
All the important features - battery backup, automatic time synch, intuitive alarm setting, good (but gentle on the eyes) time visibility.
There's a dual alarm version available for a few bucks more too.

We liked this one enough to buy another for our guest bedroom - guests won't be befuddled by this model...

BTW, radio isn't high fidelity but its not bad, a good Sony quality product.

UPDATE 10/28/09:Two years down the road and the two of these radios we bought are still going strong.One of the things I failed to mention in the original review was that this unit does NOT, repeat, does NOT have a power brick - just a nice old fashioned wall plug on a wire - sweet.I take note of the comment by others about the intensity (or lack thereof) of the clock LED.Myself, and upon further inquiry, my wife find the intensity to be 'just right'.Perhaps there is some variation in the units or maybe its just a matter of your sleeping environment.We're former Sierra Nevada 'country' folks who now live on the edge of a small Ohio town.Between the street light, the neighbor's lights, the wifi router and a couple of those green 'limelite' nightlights we DO have sufficient ambient light at night to move around without stubbing the old toes.BTW, I've dropped both of our units more than once, and accidentally kicked one across our guest suite - no discernable damage.Oh yes, the wife says that they'd show the dust less if they were white.

Sony ICF-C414 Clock Radio with Large 1.4 LED Display Review

I bought this to replace my old alarm clock. It has a sleek design that takes up very little space. It has two alarms and can be set to radio, beeps or songs and has an adjustable snooze setting. The built in radio works well and there's a sleep setting so that if you like to fall asleep to the radio you can have it automatically shut off after a certain amount of time.

It has an adjustable brightness level, but I found its default/highest level to be suitable. At that level it's bright enough to see in the dark, but not bright enough to keep me up. The alarm is easy to wake up to and gradually gets louder on the beep setting. It automatically set itself to the correct time and date as soon as I plugged it in, all I had to do is set the time zone. It has a DST feature that can be turned off or on.

The only feature lacking is the ability to customize the alarm for either weekdays, weekends or both. It's not a big deal, especially with two alarms but it would have been nice. Overall I'm very pleased with this alarm clock.

COBY CR-A68S Dual Alarm Clock Radio, Silver Review

A nice looking product, but form should follow function....and it doesn't perform that well. Clock is somewhat difficult to read...darker than any other led clocks I own.Also, the radio is difficult if not impossible to tune.Most of my favorites come in mixed with another.Alarm works well however.And for $10 what was I expecting?
So it went in the guest room.Let them complain.
